1. How do you get the Name for your Wrock Band?
We're all residents of Diagon Alley, and so it just made sense to name ourselves after our home. It's the only place we've ever felt really comfortable writing songs, except for the "the shire" in Chicago (which is actually where we spend most of our time), but we're still Diagon natives.
2.How many people are in your Band?
There's four. Nigel on Bass/Vocals, Dan on Rhythm Guitar/Vocals, Cukjati on Lead Violin, and Jason on Drums
3. What adverice do you have for Wrock Bands that are coming out?
Just have fun writing your songs. Music is an expression of the heart. Without heart you'd have a stroke.
4.What is your Favorite Wrock Band and Muggle Band. And Why?
The answer to both is Led Zepplin. Many young wrock fans don't realize that they were a wrock band. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant were fantastic wizards, while John Paul Jones and John Bohnam were the tightest squib rhythm section.
5.Where can people buy your cd's? If you have anying out?
We've got an album coming out soon, it's actually a bootleg of a show, so we edited the sound levels and acutally got it sounding good. It will be out on Apr. 12th and available at either 99cents a song on myspace.com/diagonalleyband, or you can send cash or check (money order) and we'll send you a copy.
6.Have you ever gone to a Wizard Rock conferences or conventions?
Actually, none of us have ever been, but we are planning on going to Wrock Chicago, a Terminus event, this summer.
7.Do you have Band t-shirts or anything like that out that Wrock Fans can Buy?
We will shortly. Again, Apr. 12th. They'll be available from our myspace page as well.
8.Is there's any tours or shows coming out soon?
Our next show is Apr. 12th. It's taking place at Reggie's Rock Club, 2109 S. State St. in Chicago. We're headlining, and joining us is Roosevelt Jenkins and Neverland. Two fantastic bands. The focus of the night is actaully Crankstrap Productions (who's putting out our music video). Crankstrap is debuting a lot of projects that night. It's a big day for us too though. We've got our album coming out as well as some merch that evening. We'll also be showing the "Diagon Alley" music video that night, which, if I might say so, is well on it's way to being the greatest video of all time, muggle or wizard.
9.What is the crazy thing a fan did for you, If so what was it? or Friend?
Well, one time, our number one fan (that's actually up for dispute right now) did rescue us all from a fire once. We were facing certain death, but Donde's nerves are steel, and he charged in and saved all our lives, plus Cukjati's violin, so that good.
10.Any new Song coming out?
Actually, everytime we finish two songs we record them and put them up for download on our myspace page. We're a little behind, but Dragon Wrangler and Ollivander should be up soon, I'd imagine.
11.Do you have any new website other then Myspace?Like a blog or wordpress?
No. Sorry.
12.Do You have anything esle you want to say to your fans and Friends?
Keep a keen eye out for our new music video "Diagon Alley." Actually, by the time most of you experience this interview it should already be up on our myspace page www.myspace.com/diagonalleyband as well as on Crankstrap Productions myspace page (our top friend). I'd imagine it'll also be up on youtube.com, and we also got some interest from MTV2 about picking it up. If that happens though, the Ministry'll probably send us to Azkaban for extreme wizard exposure to muggles. Oh well, we just did an interview for a Chicago newspaper too, and it's only read by muggles, so we're headed to the Wizengammot anyway.
Cheers,
Diagon Alley
If you're ever in Chicago, please, come by "the shire" and hang out with us. We love to hang out with other wizards and witches. It's hard being around muggles all the time, you know.
